North Star Loch Lomond (Croftengea) 13 Year Old, 2007

Cask Series 014

$164.99

North Star Spirits was founded in Glasgow in 2016 by Iain Croucher. They have since developed a strong reputation for bottling fantastic single cask and small batch whiskies, as well as the much-lauded Vega and Spica blends.

This Croftengea single malt was distilled at Loch Lomond in March 2007 and aged in a single refill hogshead for 13 years. One of 255 bottles.

Loch Lomond distillery was an innovative project when first conceived, intending to be fully self-reliant in its blending responsibilities by producing a variety of single malt and grain whiskies on the same site. The combination of swan-necked pot stills, Lomond stills and continuous stills, nowadays allow for the production of a staggering 11 distinct spirits. Croftengea is its most heavily peated single malt. Primarily produced as a blending component, it is very rarely bottled officially, but casks often become interesting additions to the catalogues of independent bottlers.
